BAGUIO CITY – Organizers of the 28th edition of the Panagbenga expanded the categories of the flower festival’s grand float parade to be able to accommodate more entries that will spice up the major highlights of the city’s crowd drawing event.
BFFFI president Frederico S. Alquiros said that for next year’s grand float parade, the categories will include small, medium and large floats that is why interested participants to the said parade will be able to decide which category to join.
Earlier, the local government and the BFFFI formally launched the 28th edition of Panagbenga that will run from February 1 to March 3, 2024 with the theme “Celebrating Traditions, Embracing Innovation.’
The BFFFI official claimed that the decision to expand the categories of the grand float parade was reached following numerous requests from interested participants to provide additional categories for them to fit in the floats that they intend to make for them to be able to be part of the major Panagbenga event.
Organizers admitted that the grand float parade is considered to be the most attended event of the flower festival because residents and visitors alike are able to see well decorated floats that will be presented to the public through the assistance of the landscapers.
The grand float parade of next year’s Panagbenga is scheduled on Sunday, February 25, 2024. The flower decorated floats will be paraded from Upper Session road up to the Melvin Jones grandstand where the public will have a chance to have photos with the various floats that will be joining the said parade.
Alquiros stated that companies that are interested to present their floats during the float parade can now select on what category they will join to add up to the excitement on how many floats will be participating in the parade with the expansion of the categories. By Dexter A. See
