BAGUIO CITY- A close encounter between the BERKELEY High School Boys varsity B and Baguio Central University High School boys B ensued on last Saturday’s game three of the YMCA Inter-School Basketball tilt that got the audience on their feet because of the spectacular game performance of both ball clubs.
Both ball clubs wasted no time in their defense as they collided with wall defences to get control of the boards that ended in a deadlock in the first canto of play 16-16. As the game heats up on the second canto of play Berkeley eluded their opponent with their offensive plays and forcing turn over’s that finally got them to the front seat with a 17-14 run to lead by three points 33-30 at the end of the buzzer.
Pressured on the second half of action, both ball clubs with wall like defences forced each other to commit turn over’s equalizing their control of the boards with a 15-16 blast by BSUHS cutting Berkeley lead down to two at the end of the third canto of play 48-46. The fourth canto of play was also auctioned pack as both ball clubs want to take the front seat. However, basket conversions was likewise on a stalemate until the dying minutes of the fourth quarter with Berkeley taking the front seat with a 15-14 run to end the game with a three point lead 63-60.
Other winners in last Saturdays matches were; Easter College Elementary School 55 against Star College Elementary-Pico Campus 23, Star College Shilan Campus had the same faith losing to UBLES 51-8, while BCNHS Main amassed a 100-20 against MISBC.
