Baguio City – The third edition of the Benguet Gold Rush is set to fire off on Sunday, December 4 at 3 AM at Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet to mark closure of Team Malaya’s 2016 Mountain Man Series.
The run offers 21K and 50K distances. Registered runners for both categories will be given personalized BIB and post meal. Tape crossers will get finishers medal and finisher’s shirt while the top finishers will be awarded trophies.
Registration fees for 21K amounts to P950 while it amount to P1,950 for the 50K. Registrants for the postponed Kibungan Mountain Run may apply their registration to this event. Race Director Stephen Felices earlier confirmed this.
“(Kibungan runners) can use (their) registration for Kibungan Mountain Run for our other events such as the Benguet Goldrush on December 4, 2016, the Sagada Marathon on February, 2017 or Rice Terraces Marathon on May, 2017 as long as you are running the same category.” stated Felices.
Runners for this event who are temporarily staying in Baguio hotels and inns are provided with shuttle service to be available at 3:30AM at the Ampucao Jeepney Station near Patriotic School along Harrison Road. Runners may also opt to spend the night at the starting line area using tents.
The Benguet Gold Rush Run is the third and last leg of the Mountain Man Series. The first leg was the Second edition of the Mankayan Marathon last April 9, 2016, at Mankayan, Benguet while the second leg was the third edition of The Last Stand of Yamashita which was held last September 25, 2016 at Kiangan, Ifugao.
