BAGUIO CITY – The family of Dr. Charles M. Hamada formally turned over to the officers of the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club (BCBC) some P65,000 representing the proceeds from the previously conducted Run for A Cause in memory of the late medical doctor turned publisher last May 1, 2019.
Emma Hamada, wife of the late Dr. Charles M. Hamada, formally turned over to the BCBC officers led by Jordan Tablac of Bombo Radyo the proceeds of the memorial cum fun run which was aimed at providing running enthusiasts with the opportunity to go back to the running mood and help the oldest media organization generate resources that will be used for whatever assistance to its members.
Some 500 runners actively participated in the Dr. Charles M. Hamada Memorial Run last May 1, 2019 wherein there were two categories of the race, a 3 kilometer run and a 5-kilometer run, both ending at the Burnham Lake Drive.
Ms. Hamada expressed her gratitude to all the runners and the sponsors that pooled their resources for the successful conduct of the Run for A Cause with the hope that the same will be replicated in future activities in memory of her late husband who served as one of the pillars of the local media in the early 1990s up to his untimely demise.
For his part, Tablac, in behalf of the BCBC organization, expressed the sincerest gratitude of the media community to the Hamada family for making the group a primary beneficiary of their Run For A Cause considering that the generated resources will definitely go a long way in sustaining the short- medium and long-term programs and projects of the organization that will be beneficial to its increasing number of members.
Hamada was the general manager of the Baguio Midland Courier for over two decades before joining the Grand Architect of the Universe in the newsroom in the sky over three years ago.
The Dr. Charles M. Hamada Memorial Run was conceptualized by the surviving members of his family to celebrate his birthday every May 1.
