Bauko, Mountain Province – The Bauko Municipal Government announced that it will implement a total lockdown in the municipality starting 8:00 AM of Sunday, March 22, to 8:00 AM of Monday, March 23, in light of the increasing Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) cases in the country.

Mayor Abraham B. Akilit said that the duration of the lockdown in the municipality is in accordance with the ongoing implementation of the “Enhanced Community Quarantine” in Luzon.

He disclosed that those who will be exempted from the total lockdown are those who will have extra urgent needs inside and outside the municipality.

Mayor Akilit said that the total lockdown will be a prelude for its longer implementation next weekend which will be probably scheduled on March 28 to 29, 2020.

The local chief executive appealed to the residents and people from other municipalities who will be affected by the lockdown to cooperate and understand the situation as it is aligned with the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
