BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police (BCPO) expressed its uncompromising gratitude to the local government under the leadership of Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan for its all-out support to the implementation of its anti-criminality and peacekeeping efforts that contributed in making the country’s undisputed Summer Capital a safe place to study, work, live and do business.
BCPO Acting City Director Police Col. Allen Rae Co said that the local government has been generous in extending financial, technical and even moral support to the officers and members of Baguio’s Finest that served as their inspiration and motivation to sustain and even introduce whatever needed innovations that contributed in maintain a decent peace and order situation in the city through the years.
Based on the data obtained from the annual budget of the local government, BCPO has been getting more than P30 million financial assistance from the city for its various programs and projects as well as needed supplies and units of equipment to augment the funding support that it is getting from the national headquarters.
The BCPO official said that Mayor Domogan always makes it a point to encourage law enforcers to exert whatever needed efforts to exceed their accomplishments to guarantee the reign of law and order in the cit6y so that visitors will be enticed to frequent the city being one of the prime tourist destinations in the country.
“Our words are not enough to express our gratitude to Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan for his unwavering and uncompromising support to the local police force through the years and that we wish him the best in whatever will be his endeavour after graduating as the city’s local chief executive,” Col. Co stressed.
For decades now, the local government has been appropriating funds from its annual budget as financial assistance to the BCPO for its maintenance and other operating expenses and the purchase of its added units of equipment and vehicles to help improve police presence and mobility in the city’s 128 barangays that will contribute in efforts to preserve and protect the people from being exposed to the danger of the evil motives of lawless elements who want to ruin the gains of their peace and order initiatives.
According to him, the officers and members of Baguio’s Finest will continue to work extra hard in trying to fix the city’s major problems on the tremendous traffic congestions around the city and the efforts to continuously reduce the volume of crimes being committed so that the identity of Baguio city as one of the Safest Cities in Southeast Asia will be sustained to help entice more visitors to frequent the city in the coming months and enhance the robust growth of the local tourism industry.
The police official appealed to the residents and visitors to continue supporting the programs, projects and activities of the BCPO that were instrumental in sustaining the peace and order in the city through the years and whatever innovations that will be introduced by the incoming administration because the prevalence of decent peace and order is instrumental in enticing more people to visit the city and contribute in improving its robust economy.
