Newly-installed Police Regional Office -Cordillera (PRO-COR) Regional Director PBGen. Ronald O. Lee visited the province for a command conference on May 13, days upon the assumption of PCol. Reynaldo Ogay, Jr. as the Apayao Police Provincial Office’s new Provincial Director.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Ma. Elena Teresa E. Ravelo and League of Municipalities (LMP) President and Pudtol Mayor Hector Reuel Pascua welcomed the visiting Director in behalf of Governor Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, thanking him for affording the province an immediate visit barely a month after being designated as police regional director.

Atty. Ravelo recognized the crucial role of the police force in sustaining peace and order of the province, acclaimed as one of the most peaceful provinces in the country and assured the provincial government’s continuing support to the police force in its plans and programs for the furtherance of Apayao’s commendable peace and order situation.

In response, PBGen. Lee lauded the support as well as strong collaboration between and among the PNP and LGUs concerned in the province. He admitted that the PNP personnel in Apayao are very fortunate to have the full backing of the Provincial Government.

“With the full support of the leaders of the province, suklian natin nang tamang serbisyo at taos-pusong pagsisilbi (let’s repay them with true and sincere service,” the Regional Director challenged the men in uniform.

During the conference, PBGen. Lee underlined PRO-COR’s priority plans programs under his leadership and was briefed on the situation in the province, and of the issues and concerns of the provincial police force. A surprise random drug testing among police officers was conducted after the conference.

Meanwhile, it was a homecoming of sorts for PCol. Ogay as he formally assumed as APPO’s Provincial Director last May 10, replacing erstwhile OIC Director PCol.  Peter Tagtag.  The new Provincial Director served in the province for more than a decade before being transferred to Region 1 in 2013.
