TUBA, Benguet – Concerned residents found a cadaver of a still unidentified male person at the road leading to the National Housing Authority (NHA) housing project in Tadiangan, here, Sunday.
Police authorities described the male cadaver to be 20-30 years old, fair complexioned, about 5`4” in height, wearing blue maong jeans, black t-shirt, black jacket and gray rubber shoes.
Police personnel and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team claimed that the victim sustained two (2) gunshot wounds on his left cheek and left jaw with exit wounds on his right temple and right cheek. They also observed visible ligature on the neck and multiple abrasions on his stomach.
Further, two empty shells of cal. 45 and a slug for cal. 45 were recovered.
In a related development, Girlie Micua Neri identified the cadaver as her husband Joebert Pana Neri, 29, a resident of Dr. Carino Street, Lower QM, Baguio City.
According to Mrs. Neri, she last saw her husband at about 11:00 AM of March 16, 2019 at their store at Dr. Cariño St., Baguio City when he left their store to purchase cigarette. Prior to the incident, a certain “Dong” whom the victim met when he was at the Baguio City District Jail last January 8-19, 2019, previously called and texted the victim for them to meet at Camp Allen, Baguio City. At about 6:00 PM of March 16, 2019, both the cellular phones of Dong and Jobert cannot be contacted. Mrs. Neri further revealed that her husband is a known pickpocket at Block 4, Kayang St., Baguio City and that he had been charged in court twice, once in 2018 and another last January 2019.
