BAGUIO CITY – The Board of Directors of the Benguet electric Cooperative (BENECO) approved a resolution confirming the recommendation of management fixing the calendar of activities of the April 21, 2018 district election for Baguio city district of the rural electric cooperative.
The release of the calendar of activities for the April 21, 218 district election of Baguio city is pursuant to the August 29, 2017 approval by the National electrification Administration (NEA) of BENECO Board Resolution No. 2017-101 dated August 10, 2017 scheduling the district election of Baguio to April 21, 2018.
Under the approved calendar of activitie4s, BENECO will constitute the district election screening committee on January 5, 2018 and management will submit to the Board of Directors the proposed budget of the scheduled district election for approval on January 8, 2018.
On January 8-19, BENECO will facilitate the preparation of the designated polling centers and master list of voters in the city’s 128 barangays and for the same to be submitted to the board of Directors for comments and information on February 5, 2018.
On February 5-16, 2018 BENECO will be scouting for members of the precinct election committees and the district election committees and on February 19, 2018, BENECO will coordinate with the Department of Education Division of City Schools and principals informing them of the use of their schools as polling centers during the district election.
BENECO will be preparing the appropriate requisition of election paraphernalia and prepare the needed ballot boxes on February 20, 2018 while on March 8-9, 2018, BENECO will secure NEA confirmation of PECOM appointments and on March 12-16, 2018, the appointments of the PECOM will be issued.
On April 1, 2018, BENECO will implement the first publication of the notice of district election with the qualification of candidates while the cut-off date of the master list of voters will be scheduled on January 21, 2018.
ON April 2-6, 2018, BENECO will be releasing the certificates of candidacy of interested candidates for members of the board of Directors and subsequently accepting the COCs that will be filed by interested candidates.
April 8, 2018 will be the second publication of the notice of district election with polling places while April 10, 2018 will be the last day of filing of certificates of candidacy.
DECOM candidates and watchers will be undergoing the required briefing on April 11, 2018 while the release of the list of qualified candidates will be on April 13, 2018.
PECOM members will be undergoing a briefing on April 14, 2018 while the third publication of the notice of district election and final polling places will be done on April 15, 2018.
Protests against disqualified candidates will be entertained on April 16, 2018, while on April 17, 2018, the screening committee will release the final list of candidates, while \April 18, 2018 is the final day of filing sworn statement of withdrawal.
The briefing of district election assistance group and issuance of election paraphernalia will be on April 19-20, 2018 while the election day will be on April 21, 2018, 8 am to 3 pm.
