LOAKAN- A total of 78 TESDA scholars received training certificates for completing the courses on heavy equipment operation on bulldozer, hydraulic excavator and wheel loader, sponsored by the Office of Congressman Eric Go Yap, through TESDA-CAR and Benguet Vocational School, in a ceremony held at the Supreme Hotel Baguio City.
The 78 graduates completed 20 days of training under 3 qualifications; Heavy Equipment Operation (Bulldozer) NC II with 24 graduates, Heavy Equipment Operation (Hydraulic Excavator) NCII with 26 graduates, and Heavy Equipment Operation (Wheel Loader) NCII with 28 graduates.
The representative of ACT-CIS Partylist and the Caretaker of the Lone District of Benguet, Eric Go Yap, graced the event as the guest speaker saying it is good timing for the graduates to acquire skills in heavy equipment operation because the funds for infrastructure rose from 4 billion in 2020 to 13 billion this 2021 which means that more projects in infrastructure will be allotted for the province of Benguet this year.
“I will call for a summit for a group of contractors at pakiki-usapan ko po sila na i-hire ang ating mga graduates kaya ibibigay ko po ang listahan ng ating mga graduates sa kanila. Iyon po ang pakiusap ko sa mga contractors, to hire Benguet people unahin po natin ang mga kababayan natin dito sa Benguet,” he stressed.
According to him, the TESDA on Wheels or Mobile TESDA is also set to launch this year to server residents of Benguet, especially from the far-flung areas, to avail of the free scholarships of TESDA.
“Kami ay proud sa ating mga 78 na graduates dahil nakapagtapos sila sa kasagsagan ng pandemya, at kami’y lubos na nagpapasalamat sa sponsorship ni Cong. Yap,” said Regional Director Dante J. Navarro of TESDA-CAR in his message during the Closing Program.
RD Navarro also urges the graduates to encourage their relatives and friends to avail of the Community-Based Training, 80 online programs, free scholarships, and other programs of TESDA.
We continuously pursue our battle cry TESDA Abot Lahat for serving our kababayan in the Cordilleras especially those who are most affected by the pandemic,” he added.
Provincial Director Vilma C. Cabrera of TESDA-Benguet also encouraged the graduates to give their best when they will be hired in industries.
Cong. Yap, TESDA, and BVS committed that they will be monitoring the graduates to assure their employment after their graduation. By Stephanie Nicole M. Peligman
