BAGUIO CITY – A 76-year old man who was believed to have died due to natural cause was found lifeless by concerned residents at Ciudad Grande Phase I, Bakakeng Norte/Sur around 8 am of New Year’s Day.
Senior Superintendent Rolando F. Miranda, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Francisco Mendoza Gonzales, 76 and a former security guard who lives at Ambuclao Road, Pacdal, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed that Jay Pulay Galon, a security guard of the subdivision, reported that the victim was loitering within the vicinity of the place in the evening of December 31, 2015 and was seen alive at around 3 am of New Year’s Day.
He narrated that he even offered him a blanket to keep him warm until he was found lifeless in the area around 8 am of the same day.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team who responded to the area found that the victim had no signs of external injuries, thus, he could have died due to natural cause.
His remains was brought to the local funeral parlor along Marcos highway for the proper wake and burial rites.
