CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad Benguet – Six drug suspects and more than P885,000 worth of marijuana dried leaves in brick form were arrested and destroyed, respectively, by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during separate anti-drug operations over the past several days.
The combined operatives of the police and Drug Enforcement personnel of PDEA arrested Mark Airone Arevalo Joya, 26 and a resident of Lontoc, Timalan, Balsahan, Naic, Cavite at the National Rd, Purok 5, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga recently for possession of illegal drugs. Result of the operation led to the confiscation of four marijuana bricks and three packed of Marijuana in tubular form with a Dangerous Drug Board value of P484,680.00.
In a successive separate buy-bust operation, Aaron Joel Sapon Estrada alias Aron and Angelo E. Gaspar were arrested at Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet Friday morning. Along with their arrest was the seizure of six plastic sachets of shabu, P1,000.00 buy-bust money, and one cellphone.
Other suspects arrested were Jefferson Pacio Damilo, 28, driver and a resident of Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet who was caught at Poblacion, Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet while C-J Gongob Baggas, 19, tricycle driver and a resident of Aciga, Pinukpuk, Kalinga was apprehended in front of NIA Office National Road along P6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga. Both were held on February 5, 2020 of which 1 suspected shabu, one Samsung cellular phone, P1,000.00 cash money, and P3,000.00 buy-bust money were recovered and confiscated from Damilo while one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu P1,000.00 cash money, P1,500.00 boodle buy-bust money and 1 unit Huawei Gold cellphone were also recovered and confiscated from Baggas.
Through service of search warrant, police arrested Henry De Vera, a 51, who is a resident of barangay Kias, Baguio City. He was caught at barangay San Vicente, Baguio City recently that led in the confiscation of two pieces of plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, P6,000.00 boodle money, and one cellular phone.
Moreover, during the one-day marijuana eradication of Kibungan police, Benguet Drug Enforcement Operatives, and PDEA-CAR, a total of P399,800.00 worth of fully grown marijuana plants and stalks were destroyed and uprooted at Sitio Almasi, Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet recently.
In the searching for marijuana plantation, five marijuana plantation sites were discovered with a land area of 290 square meters plated with 1,099 fully grown marijuana plants which were uprooted while 1,500 kilos of dried marijuana stalks were likewise found on site.
Cordillera police will not stop conducting intense arrest on individuals joining in illegal activities especially on drugs and will also continue conducting massive marijuana eradication on all mountainous areas of the region.
