ITOGON, Benguet – Some forty-eight individuals completed their respective underground operators training that was conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in partnership with the Itogon Suyoc Resources, Inc. that serves as the agency’s partner for the said purpose.
25 trainees graduated from the load, haul and dump (LHD) operators training course, 16 finished the low-profile truck operators training course and 7 completed the jumbo drill operators training course.
The latest batch of trainees was the second that was conducted by the TESDA in partnership with ISRI where the same run through from February 4 to March 12, 2022 in the mine camp.
Earlier, the TESDA tapped ISRI as its industrial partner for the enterprise-based training (EBT) in which the company will serve as a venue of supervised industry training like the underground operators training among others where the same was contained in a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that was forged between the parties last year.
From May 31, to July 7, 2021, there were some 28 underground operators that attended the underground operators training course which was the first of a series of Enterprise-based trainings that will be conducted in partnership with the government agency.
Among the objectives of the underground operators training include the situation for the operators to be well-versed in the safe operation of the equipment they are handling;; for the operators to realize their accountability on the equipment they are handling and to instill ‘malasakit’ to all operators by proper maintenance and operation of their assigned equipment.
