LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Four passengers of a public utility jeepney were hurt after their vehicle suffered gear stick problem causing the driver to reportedly lose control of the same until it bumped a parked vehicle at Upper Puguis here around 8:30 am Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Radino Belly, Chief of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, identified the wounded jeepney occupants as Jeremaih Doladol Pollatew, 28; Rolando Dayaoen Bolinget, 26; Jason Baranon Carzanilles, 19; and Lorenzo Guay Bogsay, 20, all residents of Sablan, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed that the PUJ was heading towards DSWD, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet when it incurred gear shift problem. The vehicle then moved backward despite the application of brake by the driver but because of the speed from the descending portion of the road, it eventually hit a Tamaraw FX parked at the roadside. As a result, the 4 PUJ passengers sustained minor injuries while the driver was unhurt.
Responding personnel of Benguet PPSC, BBPCAG, and La Trinidad Fire Station conducted rescue operation and rushed the injured individuals to the Benguet General Hospital for medical treatment. Case is for follow-up investigation.
