Loakan,Baguio City – A total of 37 competitors from the different public and private technical vocational schools of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) CAR will compete in the Regional Skills Competition on November 23-26 2021.
The 37 competitors are coming from the 6 provinces of CAR, 22 are from Baguio-Benguet, 5 are from Abra, 2 are from Apayao, 2 are from Ifugao, 3 are from Kalinga, and 3 are from Mt. Province.
The trade areas for the competition are as follows: Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Cabinet Making, Car Painting, Carpentry, Cooking, Electrical Installations, Electronics, Graphics Design Technology, Hairdressing, IT Software Solutions For Business, Joinery, Mechanical Engineering CAD, Plastering and Drywall Systems, Prototype Modeling, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Restaurant Services, Wall and Floor Tiling, Web Technologies, and Welding.
The TESDA CAR will officially start the competition with an Opening program at the Baguio City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) on November 23, 2021
TESDA CAR Regional Director Jeffrey Ian C. Dy said that the skills competition is a friendly competition and an avenue to showcase different skills amongst partners and stakeholders of the TVET sector involving participants from the industries/enterprises, students, trainees, and graduates of technical vocational schools/HEIs/SUCs in the different trade areas or qualifications.
The competition will also promote the development of quality vocational/technical and work values among the youth and skilled workers and foster technical cooperation in vocational/technical education and among the provinces.
The declared winners in the Regional Skills Competition will compete in the 2021 National Skills Competition.
