A meeting followed wherein issues and concerns on how to improve the accomplishments and performance of the District Office had been discussed.

Rep. Baguilat said that he is happy to visit the project sites and have a consultation meeting with DPWH employees, LGU Officials and local contractors. He added that it is important for them Legislators to monitor the projects that are funded through the national budget and make sure that the projects are implemented according to existing rules and regulations.

“I was pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the roads are – wide, two lanes with curb and gutter and safety devices were installed. I never could imagine 5 years ago that these places will have good roads in a short period of time,” Rep. Baguilat said.

DE Bangasan reported that 45.59 kms. out of 195.436 kms. or about 23% of the Secondary National Roads of Ifugao 2nd DEO will be left unpaved after CY 2015. “If the trend of project funding will push through, we hope to pave/concrete all roads in this District by 2017,” DE Bangasan said.

According to OIC-ADE Ramirez, the national road from Isabela to Alfonso-Lista and Aguinaldo is almost concreted. Construction of the curb and gutter on some road sections are being implemented and hopefully, will be completed this year.

Mayor Talusig and Mayor Prudenciano also expressed their appreciation on the road improvements in their Municipalities, ensuring safe and comfortable travel to their constituents. Mayor Talusig said that a good and safe road condition will uplift the economic status of their Municipality because agricultural products will be easily transported to nearby provinces of Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya.//Nora P.
