BSEAO, Mountain Province May 30 – Three young men from barangay Gawa here, were allegedly brutally murdered by still unidentified suspects while fishing for eels in a river in Pangolposan in nearby Tubo, Abra recently.
The lifeless bodies of the three male persons, namely Jansen ‘Ayban’ Gabaen, Ronnie Macayba and Pedro Sauyen, were reportedly seen by concerned citizens lying near the sacks of eel that they were able to gather near a river in the aforesaid place.
Initial reports reaching the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) showed that the three persons left Agawa a week ago to go to look for eels in the nearby town of Tubo but they never went home since then until the reports on the alleged found dead bodies near a river in Pangolposan cropped up.
Dozens of volunteers from the municipality immediately proceeded to where the dead bodies were found to extricate the same and will be subjected to post-mortem examination by experts to ascertain the cause of their death.
Based on the MDRRMO report, one of the fatalities allegedly died due to a number of hack wounds in the different parts of his body while the two other individuals sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies.
Local disaster and police officials coordinated with their counterparts in Tubo town to facilitate the conduct of an in-depth investigation to identify the suspects in the brutal murder of the individuals whose primary intention was to simply to go to the area to look for livelihood and ascertain the motive behind the perpetration of the crime.
Mayor Johnson Bantog II, who was on official travel when the said report was released, immediately proceeded home to personally supervise the conduct of the investigation by the authorities on the murder incident that caused the lives of three of his townmates who were simply after their source of livelihood when they went to look for eels in the nearby town of Tubo.
