LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Two students were hurt after they were manhandled by five individuals in a store at Western Buyagan, Poblacion, here, Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the victims as John Mark Queddeng Caramat, 18, student, and Ruymund Bacaling Antollin, 18, both residents of Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet while he named one of the suspect as Regie Salasa, legal age, and a resident of Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims were inside a store in the place of incident when the suspect, together with four still unidentified companions, suddenly arrived and unpleasantly stared at them.
At this juncture, Caramat challenged Salasa to a fistfight and during the commotion, the four companions of the suspect aided each other in mauling the victims after seeing that Salasa was being subdued before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
Concerned residents immediately rushed the victims to the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) for medical treatment of the injuries they sustained as a result of the said incident.
The suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
