BAGUIO CITY – Two people were hurt after a painter hit them with a hammer and smashed the rear window of their vehicle with the same item along Bronze St., Upper Quezon Hill here Sunday night.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office BCPO), identified the victims as Renerio Lozano Penaso, 39, married; and Pejay Magaway Lozano, 33, married, tourist guide, and both are residents of no. 267 Bronze Street, Upper Quezon Hill, Baguio City while he named the suspect as Michael Dandasan Bassey, 22, painter, and a resident of #181 km 3, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victims were inside their parked car along the place of incident when the suspect, who was holding a hammer, suddenly arrived in the area and attempted to hit one of them with the said item.
However, the attempted hitting of the hammer was parried that inflicted minor injuries to the hand of one of the victim.
Not contented with the said incident, the suspect went to the back of the car and smashed the rear window of the vehicle until it was totally broken.
Responding police operatives were able to arrest the suspect, who was found to be under the influence of liquor, and stands to face the appropriate charges of physical injuries and malicious mischief against him.
