2 drug traders nabbed in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – A notorious supplier of illegal drugs to local entertainers and a former barangay kagawad, who is an alleged drug user, were arrested by combined police operatives and detectives and anti-narcotics agents during a buy-bust operation at Dizon Subdivision here around 8 am Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Jimmy Catanes, regional officer of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit – North Central Luzon, identified the arrested drug personalities as Zelnor Anne Ocampo Dominguez, 37, married, unemployed and a resident of Maya St., Dizon Subdivision, Baguio City and Abe Miller Ampal, 40, single, a former barangay kagawad, self-employed and a resident of Lower Quirino Hill, Baguio City.

Seized from their possession and control were six (6) sachets of Shabu approximately weighing 20 grams with an estimated DDB Value of P 120,000.0); assorted drug paraphernalia and P 1,000.00 marked money.

Cases for Violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied for filing against the arrested drug personalities before the Office of the City Prosecutor, Baguio City.

Moreover, the arrested drug personalities are said to be members of a newly discovered Criminal Gang engaged in the sale of illegal drugs in the city with Dominguez as the alleged supplier of prohibited drugs to entertainers in the different night spots in the city.
