Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera and local police collared a member of a local drug group in a sting operation last night along Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
Abdul Raffy Zenab Ampaso alias Mark Paul and Odin, 24 years old, vendor, native of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur and a resident of the Lower Quirino Hill was nabbed when he sold a heat-sealed sachet containing shabu weighing 3.7671 grams worth P10,000.00 to a PDEA-CAR poseur-buyer. Aside from the dangerous drugs and buy-bust money, the suspect yielded a mobile phone used during the transaction.
Ampaso’s arrest brings to 13 the number of local drug group members apprehended by law enforcers for this year alone.
He is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR Regional Office holding facility pending the filing of violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the proper authorities.
It is expected that more drug group members operating in Baguio City will be arrested following the conception of OPLAN EAGLE’S CLAW, a joint anti-drug campaign by law enforcers to be implemented in Baguio City. The joint operation aims to clear barangays of drug personalities who prey on hapless drug users.
