BANGUED, Abra – Two suspected drug couriers were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in their possession alleged illegal drugs and unlicensed guns during the service of separate search warrants in their residences at Linasin, Zone I, here, Friday.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Office, identified the arrested drug couriers as Fidel Lalugan and Maximo Berras alias Max, both residents of Linasin, Zone I, Bangued, Abra.
Confiscated from Lalugan’s residence by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Raphiel F. Alzate of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 1 in Bangued were three small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu placed inside a sachet of 3 in 1 coffee mix; One caliber .45, Colt MK IV, series 70 with SN 1763629, inserted with magazine and loaded with eight live ammunition for same caliber; One magazine for caliber .380; and one holster for caliber .45.
Confiscated from the residence of Berras by virtue of a separate search warrant issued by Judge Alzate were three small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu placed inside a sachet of 3 in 1 coffee mix; and one roll aluminum foil.
The arrested individuals and the confiscated pieces of evidence were subsequently brought to the Bangued Municipal Police Station prior to the filing of charges for violations of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 10591 or the New Firearms Control Law and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against them.
