Lingayen, Pangasinan – The 1st Pangasinan Inter-Agency Friendship Games 2017 is set to sizzle on July 3 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gym in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
During its Solidarity meeting held recently at the Capitol Resort Hotel, Provincial Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC) Executive Officer Modesto M. Operania, along with Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas Regional Director Edilberto Abalos discussed the rules and regulations, schedules, as well as groupings to the 17 participating teams from different national agencies in the province who confirmed to join the basketball tournament.
Suggestions from national agency representatives were considered to finalize the flow of events which is set to start on July 3, commencing at the Capitol Plaza for the flag raising ceremony, followed by a parade of teams to the NRSCC Gym for the opening of the 1st Pangasinan Inter-Agency Friendship Games 2017.
The project, conceptualized by Gov. Amado I. Espino, III, is similar with successful 1st Governor’s Cup Intertown/City Basketball Tournament and the on-going Inter-LGU (local government unit) Unity Games but the composition of the participants are distinctly for employees of NGAs.
Seventeen teams from 14 national agencies namely: Bureau of Fire Protection, DepEd1, Region 1 Medical Center, Philippine National Police, DepEd Urdaneta, CENPELCO, PhilHealth, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, DPWH, PANELCO, Social Security Services, Judiciary, National Irrigation Agency.
The 17 teams will compete in a single round robin format for a total of 92 games to roll for the next two months with the championships eyed during Civil Service Commission month this September.
Deadline for submission and completion of Team Documents, as well as settlement for Performance Bond is moved to June 23 to accommodate more participants for the tournament.
