LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Some ten thousand senior high school students from the different towns will be granted their respective financial assistance from the educational financial assistance program of his office which they could use to provide for their needs in the pursuit of their studies.

Benguet caretaker congressman and Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list Rep. Eric Yap stated that concerned personnel from his office and representatives from the social welfare department will be going around the province to evaluate and assess the qualified beneficiaries of the educational financial assistance program to facilitate the immediate release of their P3,000 cash aid from the government.

Earlier, the lawmaker accessed the funds from the social welfare department to assist deserving and qualified senior high school students enrolled in the different schools around the province for their needs in their ongoing studies.

Congressman Yap pointed out that the educational assistance for deserving senior high school students was conceptualized to help the students hurdle the difficulties of attending the blended type of learning of the education department for students to be able to pursue their studies amidst the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to him, the education cycle of students must not be unduly interrupted that is why the concerned government agencies are coming up with alternative types of meaning so that there will be continuous flow of learning either inside or outside the classroom so that students will not be left behind in their pursuit to acquire a higher level of education.

Congressman Yap underscored the importance of the youth acquiring a higher level of education as this cannot be easily taken away from them and it serves as the best inheritance that students could get from their parents or guardians.

He assured the province’s youth that his office will continue to look for various programs, projects and activities from government agencies which they can avail to help in improving their skills and knowledge.

Numerous students from the different municipalities appreciated the ongoing efforts of Congressman Yap to widely disseminate the information on the presence of programs, projects and activities they could benefit from in pursuit of higher levels of education.

He claimed that it is still his policy to continue to lobby relevant government agencies to prioritize the Benguet in the implementation of their priority programs, projects and activities.By HENT
