TABUK CITY, Kalinga โ Provincial Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i is encouraging the public to try exploring the province through virtual tour while population movement is still limited.
โWe have to remind the public that the directive of the governor and several LGUs in the province banning tourism activities in the locality are not yet lifted, and these directives are even reinforced with the imposition of higher quarantine measures in the province,โ she said.
According to the Ngao-i, since the people could not go out and visit the sites in the province, the public could use the social media to share photos of places they visited in Kalinga.
โThrough our page โKalinga Tourism, Philippines,โ we are also sharing photos from personal accounts and other pages. In a way, we are keeping our tourism active even virtually,โ she said.
The tourism officer also expresses her appreciation to people sharing photos and providing details on the sites they are posting, specially the newly discovered sites around the province.
“Let us share the tourist sites of our province to the world through our photos and videos,” she said.
โBut we have to remind that tours are not yet allowed in the province,โ she said.
Relating that several outsiders had also been inquiring if they could see Apo Whang-od, โIsipin po natin na Apo Whang od is also a senior citizen and we have to be considerate of her health,โ she appealed.
