ONE Championship Heavyweight king Brandon “The Truth” Vera meets Aung La N Sang in a battle World Champion vs. World Champion for the “The Burmese Python’s” ONE Light Heavyweight World Championship during ONE: Century this October 13, 2019 at Tokyo, Japan.
Vera is currently sporting a 16-7 MMA record. He is riding a four-bout winning streak. His last four bouts are all appearances in ONE that ended first round knockouts.
Aung La N Sang has a 25-10 record. He is also on a hot streak, winning his last six bouts and hasn’t lost sin January 2017. He also ended his last four bouts, all light heavyweight title fights, in knockouts.
Kevin Belingon is part of the event’s main cards as he meets Bibiano Fernades for the fourth time with the ONE Bantamweight World Championship.
Also featured in one of the main cards is a rematch between ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, who is dropping down a division to try and take the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title from “Unstoppable” Angela Lee.
Possibly seeing in action in the event are Danny Kingad, Honorio Banario and Reece Mclaren. Any of these fighters will be featured in the finals of their respective Grand Prix is they get past the semis.
“The King” Kingad was originally scheduled to square off against Kairat Akhmetov but now gets Mclaren instead in the semifinals of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on August 2. Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson faces Tatsumitsu “The Sweeper” Wada in the other semis to determine who meet in the finals.
Banario will face Timofey Nastyukhin also on August 2 for the last finals slot in the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix division. Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev is through as the first finalist after his knockout of Amir Khan last May.
ONE: Century was labeled as such because the event marks the promotion’s 100th show.
