BANGUED, Abra – A 51-year old tricycle driver died after he was stabbed dead by a 20-year old helper in front of a drug store at Zone 2, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Jonny/Jovito Padapat Perisona, 51, single, tricycle driver, and a resident of Sitio Bangcag, barangay Naguirayan, Pidigan, Abra while he named the suspect as Jan Patrick Bayquen Ballesta, 20, single, helper at Bangued Public Market, native of barangay Poblacion, Langiden, Abra and residing at barangay Dangdangla, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was standing in front of a drug store when the suspect suddenly approached him and stabbed him once on his stomach before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed by fellow tricycle drivers to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to a fatal stab wound.
The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by elements of the Bangued Municipal Police Station.
