The 28 candidates for Miss Lepanto National High School (LNHS) Earth sold a total of P2,304,190.00 worth of tickets in their popularity contest for the repair and upgrade of the LNHS Science Laboratory, homerooms and other projects that will be identified by the School, PTA and School Governing Council (SGC).
Rimquel Vlyzyl T. Batchi, Miss Grade 7- Science Technology and Engineering (STE) emerged as the top grosser with a total of P404,000.00 after the last canvassing on February 15, 2019. Miss Grade 8-STE Sheika Mae I. Tome is first runner-up with P346,000.00. On third, fourth and fifth places are: Miss Grade 12- Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) A Shiela Mae B. Berry, P2020,000.00: Miss Grade 10 Special Science Class (SSC) Jeavone D. Pomeg-as, P160,000.00; and Miss Grade 7 Special Program in the Arts (SPA) Aira Mae O. Annogui, P140,000.00.
Of the gross amount, 25% of P34,500.00 and 50% of more than P34,500.00 worth of sold tickets goes to the candidate or seller; 10% or P230,000.00 will be distributed to the homerooms for their Homeroom PTA projects; while a portion was also used for the printing and operating expenses for the activity.
Another 10 percent or P230,000.00 was raffled on February 28 in the forms of 5 laptops, 5 cell phones, one P10,000.00, ten P5,000.00 and 20 P1,000.00 cash prizes. Decenia Cabacab, Bertha Balacdao, Nora Tome, Vlyzyl Batchi and Hajji-an Marcos won the laptops. Marcos who won the last laptop is from Cabutotan, Ampusungan, Bakun who bought only three numbers worth six pesos was very lucky to have her number chosen.
On the other hand, Nora Tome, Vlyzyl Batchi, Roger Velasco, Claide Calapen and Abogacia ’02 won the cellphones. Meanwhile, the lucky winner of the P10,000.00 is Jackson Gammat of Monamon Norte who bought 10 ticket numbers worth P20.00.
The coronation was held on March 1, 2019 at the CPJ Theater where three candidates also won “Best Creative Attire” for their gowns made of paper. The awardees were: Aira Mae O. Annogui for Grades 7 and 8; Jeavonne Kate D. Pomeg-as for Grades 9 and 10; and Rhondalee G. Lapaddic for Grades 11 and 12. Lapaddic was also judged as Miss Photogenic.
Last year, LNHS won Exceptional Parental Engagement Award by the International School Awards (ISA) Dubai and Second Place in the Regional Search for Best Brigada Eskwela Implementer for large school category.
