BAUKO, Mountain Province – The administration of the Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH) needs at least P25 million for the implementation of major projects to enhancing the delivery of frontline health services to the people wanting to seek medical attention from the regional health facility.
LHMRH medical center chief Dr. Eduardo Calpito said one of the major projects of the hospital is to relocate its emergency room to the outer zone, specifically at the right wing of the existing administration building, so that prospective clients will have easier access to the said frontline service of the hospital.
Further, he added part of the project will be the put up of the hospital’s public health unit and health emergency management unit side by side with the emergency room so that all frontline services will be located in the outer zone for better access to people seeking the hospital’s existing services.
“We are awaiting the approval of the health department’s central office to our request to charge the funds for our priority projects on the savings of our regional office from available appropriations for health facilities enhancement projects,” Dr. Calpito stressed.
The LHMRH official said their request for funding priority projects chargeable to the savings of the regional office’s existing appropriations for its health facilities enhancement project was also endorsed to the central office by DOH-CAR regional director Dr. Amelita M. Pangilinan, thus, the approval of the request is simply being awaited prior to the implementation of the projects.
According to him, the identified priority projects of the hospital will be bidded out short of award so that when the approval from the central office will be released, the same will be awarded to the winning contractor and implementation of the projects will immediately commence taking advantage of the prevailing good weather condition to allow the completion of the projects the soonest.
Calpito explained the relocation of the hospital’s emergency room and other frontline services to the outer zone is part of the innovations being introduced by the present administration to provide convenience to patients and their family members seeking medical attention from the regional health facility.
LHMRH is a regional hospital preparing for its accreditation as one of the tertiary hospitals in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) by installing all the necessary health facilities for complicated cases through the health department’s massive health and infrastructure programs that cascades to the grassroots level the implementation and enhancement of basic health care services.
Calpito assured various sectors in the province the present hospital administration will endeavour to sustain the implementation of priority development projects to improve the existing facilities, increase manpower and enhance the delivery of health care services to the people, especially those who are in dire need of the necessary interventions to improve their health conditions.
