LGU employee hurt in Bangued shooting incident

BANGUED, Abra – A 24-year old local government unit employee was injured after he was shot by a 58-year old fellow government worker at Sitio Kablidatan, Zone 7, here, Tuesday dawn.

Police authorities identified the victim as Bernon Jan Lizardo Gallardo, 24, LGU employee, and a resident of Zone 1, Bangued, Abra while the suspect was named as Ronald Gines Baro, 53, LGU employee and a resident of Zone 7, Bangued, Abra.

Initial investigation showed that the victim’s brother and his companion were on board their motorcycle when it accidentally stopped in the place of incident.

The suspect then approached the duo and allegedly punched the victim’s brother that prompted them to seek help from the latter regarding the said incident.

While the suspect was approaching the suspect to confront him, the suspect allegedly shot the victim once on his buttocks that prompted them to rush him to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.

Responding police operatives were able to arrest the suspect who is now temporarily detained at the Bangued Municipal Police Station awaiting the charges of attempted homicide that is being prepared against him.
