LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Incumbent municipal officials continued to get the trust and confidence of their constituents as most of them were given a fresh mandate by their voters during the recently concluded May 13, 2019 mid-term elections.
Seven of the thirteen municipal mayors were able to retain their positions while six others were given a mandate by their people to lead them in the next three years. 2 of the 7 incumbent local chief executives were unopposed in their re-election bid.
In Atok, the new Mayor was Dr. Raymundo Sarac while Angelito Galao will be serving as vice mayor. Those composing the municipal council are Franklin Smith, Arthur Binay-an, Conie Lupante, Edward Beliano, Remegio Silug, Oliver Bodong, Alma Bumakil and Marilou Zarate.
Bakun will have a new Mayor in the person of Bill Raymundo while Edward Buscol will be the town’s vice mayor. Comprising the municipal council are Jesus Lozano, June Sunien, Amando Camadog, Edgar Ognaden, Delfin Killip, Marciano Kig-isan, Jr., Dixie La Madrid and Mark Bayawa.
Incumbent Bokod Mayor Thomas K. Wales, Jr. retained his post while Vice Mayor Pedro Anton was also re-elected to the same position. The elected local legislators were Eric Donn Ignacio, Edward Albin, Doroteo Beray, Jhonar Rebutazo, Arthur Solano, Johnny Sama, Pancho Esnara and Alex Basilio.
Unchallenged Buguias Mayor Ruben Tindaan cruised to a sweet victory while Vice mayor Dione Baucas was given another term for the said position. Elected councillors were Ronald Kimakim, Manuel Yans, Esto Asayco, Ireneo Calwag, Donato Bacquian, Deliano Dampilag, Francis Wilson and Federico Aquisio.
Itogon Mayor Victorio Palangdan succeeded in his bid for a third term while Vice Mayor Adriano Carantes, Jr. was also given the same mandated by their constituents. The compostion of the municipal council will be Jodea Acay-Camoyot, Cesar Altiga, Clint Galutan, Dante Alain Xavier Godio, Jaime Laduan, Flordeliza Depayso, Pio Mackenzie and Lison Latawan, Jr..
Comebacking Kabayan Mayor Faustiono Aquisan bested his two other rivals for the position while vice mayor Louie Daoal was able to secure another term for his position. The local legislative body will be composed of Mircoles Lamses, Dan Guinsiman, Ghislyn Marave, Sario Minas, Roli Wakit, Nover Baskial, Mike Badival and Marlon Nginsayan.
Kapangan Mayor will be on his third term as unopposed together with vice mayor Mayo Eslay while the composition of the municipal council will be Bruno Canuto, Harris Dizon, Jennilyn Ebes, Santos Bastian, Andrew Bentrez, Jr., Rex Balangcod, Lauro Lorenzo and Marcelo Tayaban.
Incumbent Kibungan Mayor Cesar Molitas hurled the challenged that was given to him and emerged victorious while incumbent Councilor Edwin Nitron edged the incumbent vice mayor by a mere 5 votes to be the presiding officer of the municipal council. Elected councillors were Laurence Toking, Susan Atayoc, Pauline Gumpic, Joseph Cayad-an, Ben Palukpuk, Saturnino Tayag, Marcos Olayo and Roger Tugade.
Incumbent La Trinidad Mayor Romeo K. Salda cruised to an easy re-election bid as he bested Vice Mayor Joey Marrero for the capital town’s mayoralty post while incumbent Councilor Roderick Awingan emeged victorious for the vice mayoralty position. Comprising the municipal are Nestor Fongwan, Jr., Jayson Dangwa, Renato Tereng, Guiller Galwan, John Botiwey, Arthur Shontogan, Francis Lee and Teddy Walang.
Neophyte Frenzel Ayong stole the limelight as he was overwhelmingly elected as the mayor of Mankayan while Denver Joseph Tongngacan will serve as his vice mayor. The municipal council will be composed of Aldrin Camiling, Julio Joey Culliao, Baylon Galuten, Balodoy Totanes, Hector Gacita, Aeljandro Wagian, Roberto Anasan and Alexander Dapiawen.
Incumbent Vice mayor Manuel Munar, Jr. won the mayoralty race for Sablan while incumbent Mayor Arthur Baldo also won the town’s vice mayoralty post. Elected councillors were Alfredo Dacumos, Jr., Fernando Baclawad, Jr., Cornelio Almacen, Cesar Calado, Romulo Polon, Demetrio Martin, Lito Campala and Lete Gutierez.
Incumbent Vice mayor Clarita Sal-ongan won in the mayoralty race for Tuba while incumbent Councilor Maria Carantes was also victorius in her vice mayoralty bid. Comprising the municipal council will be Nestor Baban, Reachelle Takinan, Eugene Gabino, Garey Behis, Gloria Paus, Arnulfo Milo, Roger Kitma and Rebecca Apil.
Incumbent Tublay Mayor Armando Lauro and Vice mayor Juan Esnara retained their respective positins while those who will comprise the local legislative body will include Cruso Daguioa,Jr., Jovie Desierto, Mendoza Soriano, William Esteban, Berto Dinglee, Daniel Kimpaoy, Benito Nemescio and Gabriel Torribio.
