“Nobody can tell when can an earthquake happen,” said MDRRMC Buguias staff Eugene Camsol as he and his company conducted an earthquake drill and basic first aid training for elementary pupils, parents, teachers and some barangay officials on July 10, 2019 at Calamagan Elementary School, Buguias in observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month with a theme “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na Pagbabago.
The activity was done to give importance to being prepared if the “big one” will come and giving the proper and immediate care to an injured person or those suddenly get ill.
Through this, concerned citizens can show their social and moral obligation and to make contingency plans for the school and barangay, identifying ways to lessen or prevent further injuries or illness that may happen at any time and place.
The lectures focused on emergency preparedness during calamities, and demonstration of the different aspects of first aid including bandaging techniques, guidelines in giving emergency care, handling of patient casualty and other common emergencies.
After the deliberation and discussions, drills and simulation took place with the supervision Camsol.
