The Department of Education embarks on the National Maintenance Week or BRIGADA ESKWELA 2019 stipulated under DepEd Order no. 24, s.2008, an annual program of the Department of Education conducted before classes start on June 13, 2019. This year’s week-long Brigada Eskwela, held from May 20 to May 25, 2019, prepares the school facilities and surroundings for School year 2019-2020.
The Brigada Eskwela theme this year. “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”, highlights the very significant role of a strong partnership among members of the school stakeholders and in the entire community in providing needed support for the needs of the school and its learners. The strong collaboration among the stakeholders mark a very significant effort on the real essence of a strong bayanihan, or the spirit of togetherness with a common purpose.
Balukas Elementary School is a multigrade school and farthest among the different schools at La Trinidad District, Benguet province. The essence of mobilizing partners in public service to work as a team was spearhead by the officers and members of the Parents Teachers Association under the leadership of the Teacher In-Charge, Alumni, and school faculty as they work hand-in-hand in the repair of a makeshift building for a kindergarten classroom as priority project and other school facilities that need repair.
The success of the construction could not have been felt without the help of the Texas Instrument-Philippine Express Processing Zone in providing materials and manpower in the said priority project.
