LA TRINIDAD, Benguet May 21 – Six adults and a minor female were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in their possession suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia during an anti-drug operation inside a drug haven at Betag, here, Monday night.
Chief Inspector Joeffer Banglayan, chief of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, identified the arrested drug suspects as Beljimar Nabus Botic, 20, Erickson Bucang, 23, both residents of Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet; Jeric Espada Bittong, 19, resident of Pico; Xaxunyro Ocampo, 27, resident of Poblacion, KM6; Jideon Manzano, 49; Rogen Castro Bangoy, 18, both residents of Betag, all of La Trinidad, Benguet and a female minor whose name was withheld.
Banglayan claimed that a joint operation was initiated by regional, provincial and municipal anti-drug operation teams that resulted to the immediate arrest of the drug suspects who were caught conducting the reported pot session.
12 heat sealed sachet containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized from the suspects.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at the La Trinidad Municipal Station awaiting the filing of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against them before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
Banglayan disclosed that some of the suspects have other pending cases in the municipality, thus, their warrants will be processed and served to them so that they will face the other cases that were previously filed against them.
The police official expressed his gratitude to the concerned citizens who provided them with the vital information that caused the arrest of the drug personalities as he urged the residents to continue supporting the efforts of the law enforcers against the proliferation of illegal drugs and other crimes committed in the capital town.
