BUGUIAS, Benguet – Two persons found their carnapping case complicated after members of the arresting team recovered from their possession illegal drugs and assorted drug paraphernalia at Abatan Proper here around 12:30 pm Tuesday.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, identified the arrested carnapping suspects as Delson Delfin Ambros, 25, single, and Alvin Badcong Delfin, 22, single, both residents of Loo, Buguias, Benguet.
The duo was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Danilo Camacho of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 62 for violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Law as amended by Section 20 of RA 7959.
However, arresting officers were able to recover three (3) heat sealed sachet containing white crystalline substance, two (2) unsealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance residue and drug paraphernalia from the suspects when they were searched at the police station.
Separate charges of violation of the provisions of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law will be filed against them before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
The suspects will be turned over to the issuing court for proper disposition while the seized illegal drugs will be submitted to the PNP crime laboratory for the conduct of the needed chemical analysis.
