LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The two housewives, who were earlier reported to have been arrested in their residence for alleged large-scale illegal recruitment, recently denied being the accused in the said case and having been arrested, saying that they were actually the complainants in the case pending before the Regional |Trial Court (RTC) Branch 8.
Analyn Esyaben Antonio, 36, married, housewife, native of Mankayan, Benguet; Lorna Demino Esyaben, 41, married, housewife, native of Itogon, Benguet, both residents of Pines Park, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet and Carita Sicladoy Atonen, 35, single, self-employed, a native of Bakun, Benguet were issued bench warrants by Judge Cecilia Corazon Dulay-Archog, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 8, for alleged failure to appear during earlier hearings scheduled by the court relative to the large-scale illegal recruitment they filed against a certain Julie Giluran alias Corazon de Castro, who is currently detained at the Benguet provincial jail.
Lorna and Analyn explained they were able to be provided a copy of the bench warrant issued by the court and they immediately voluntarily appeared to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station prior to their reporting to the court, thus, the bench warrant against them were not actually served and they were not actually arrested.
The complainants signified their interest to pursue the case filed against the detained suspect even if their fellow complainants seem not to be interested to attend the hearings scheduled for their case.
Lorna and Analyn visited the Herald Express office to shed light on the matter of the earlier report which was noted of the press in the police blotter but such notation was not included in the journal of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera.
